I have been on birth control since May because my boyfriend and I do sleep together. Since I started the pill, my period has come on Tuesday and lasted until Sunday. Last month my period came on Saturday and lasted until Thursday or Friday. It was slightly lighter than normal, but my period has always been very light. On Sunday (three days ago) I woke up with what felt like a urinary tract infection or bladder infection. My boyfriend and I had slept together the night before and I didn't go to the bathroom afterwards. I went to the doctor today to get tested for a UTI. The initial urinalysis showed no signs of a UTI. The doctor told me he would send for a culture and see if that showed anything. I will find out tomorrow. I am now wondering if my early period last month was implantation bleeding and what I thought was a bladder infection is really pregnancy symptoms? Can anyone tell me what they think?
Hmmm. Well that always confuses me as well. I actually am still 5 days away from testing for pregnancy and last weekend I found out that I had a bladder infection. The thing is, my doc found traces of things that would possibly mean bladder infection, but he didn't send it to the lab…so i guess we're not 100% sure that's what it was. He gave me antibiotics regardless though…because of finding what he did (white blood cells and something else). Honestly, when i have a UTI, i NEVER have frequent urination or a burning feeling when i pee. I don't even know it until i get a full feeling in my abdomen sorta like i am gonna start my period…or pain in my kidneys. The pain in my back did subside after three days of the antibiotic…so maybe it was something. But, i still have that full feeling. Does it feel like you are going to start your period? I was prego in may (miscarried) and i had such a "full" feeling that it was almost painful like a bladder infection. I read in a book that said "you'll never feel like you're going to start your period more than when you're pregnant". I'd ask if you've been good about taking your BC pills, but i have a friend at work who took them religiously and has twins. SHe was the 1 percent who it actually made more fertile. Please email me if you'd like and give me more details of how you feel.
