Can a bladder/ UTI infection cause spotting in early pregnancy?

I had some spotting yesterday. I am just over 4 weeks pregnancy. The doctor said I have a bladder infection and that can cause spotting, but no where on the internet does it say that. Any one else had a bladder infection that caused slight bleeding/ brown spotting.

Hello, I’m 10 weeks along and just getting over a bladder infection. I was urinating blood, and they thought it could have been vaginal bleeding so they inserted a catheter. It could be spotting which could cause spotting but as early along as you are, i wouldn’t worry. Unless you start bleeding a lot try not to worry. Also don’t be surprised if you get a yeast infection while taking the antibiotics for the infection. Sucks but it happens a lot
